I feel they are both IN love with each other.

I think Mulder wants to have some stabilty and settling down in his life. Maybe not the whole white picket fence and woody panel station wagon but he craves some just the same. He loves Scully because she can give him that, she keeps him grounded. I don't think Scully wants to go our shopping for the station wagon either (or a mini van as the case maybe!). That was the point of 'all things', she discovered and came to the understanding that she is where she is suppost to be. And she is happy.

Mulder noticed how Scully was with the baby and told her tenderly that 'there has to be an end'. He never once told Scully to stop and let him go alone. He talked of it ALL coming to an end.I think he is still feeling guilty that their quest has taken away Scullys chance of becoming a Mother in the 'traditional' way. He wants to give the woman he loves everything she wants.

I do realize that CC wrote these lines with the full intention of driving the fans crazy because of their double meaning. He did a damn fine job didn't he!!!
