Hi John,
No , I don't hava a rope luff. I'm not sure of the significance of this. My sails are Hood, with no rope luff on the main. I leave the track cover off. I drop the main Halyard and wind the boom handle at the same time and as the sail drops and the slides slip neatly out of the door and down to the boom. No problems with sticking or jamming. I do have to re feed the slides when I hoist but again this is no problem. I feed off a couple of feet of sail from the boom at a time an slip in the slides as I hoist.

Works for me!
