Darwinism caused the holocaust? Congratulations, that ranks right up there among the silliest things I’ve ever heard. Anti-semitism preceded Darwin’s life by thousands of years. Hitler used the bible to justify his actions, and christianity, most notably the roman catholic church with their famous ‘slight-of-hand’ morals, chose to look the other way. At the time, most of the non-catholic christian cults in the world were cheering the Nazis on.
Again, you’re using bible to document itself. According to you, people who lacked “biblical discipline” wrote the bible. But, according to you, they were divinely inspired. And, God’s approval of the bible was confirmed by the same undisciplined people who wrote the bible. What a wonderfully convenient circular argument. All it’s missing is a pretty pink ribbon, a big gaudy bow, and a tag that says: Caution! The enclosed opinions do not necessarily reflect those of upper management! And you seem to have decided to excuse or ignore the authors hobby of torturing and killing innocent men, women and children for sport while they were being “divinely inspired”.
I never said you created the stupidity. My Lincoln quote pretty much confirms idiots existed long before you were born. You just appear very susceptible to suggestion. I’ll bet you’ve been suckered into “donating” money to various religious sleazoids over the years. And they probably convinced you crossing their palms with silver would bring you closer to God. Which is an unqualified lie, since God is now, and always has been...absolutely free.
So you’re an agnostic who found religion.
I’ve never heard of a “converted” agnostic before, usually only atheists and the devout cross-convert. It’s strange for someone to go from believing mankind’s knowledge is a drop in an infinite ocean, with a universe of exciting discoveries waiting to be made, to believing mankind’s future has been neatly predigested in the bible for centuries. But I guess anything's possible. Fortunately for the rest of us, you’re almost certainly dead wrong. You conveniently overlook a few minor details missing from the bible like: The world is round; our solar system not the center of the universe; dinosaurs; oil; microorganisms; fusion; fission; plants and animals naturally adapting to environmental variables (evolving: one of God's better ideas), and so much more.
“Satan has got his grip on you...”
I don’t persecute others. I don’t hurt others. I don’t join groups that impose their beliefs on others against their will. I don’t demand money for ‘supernatural protection’. I reject hate groups that attack complete strangers for profit...
...and, according to you, this makes me “gripped” by satan. Since christians regularly do all of the above, I suspect that shoe is on the other foot.
You keep suggesting it isn’t the bible that’s wrong, it’s man’s interpretation of the bible. Today, right this minute, I can walk into 5 different christian churches and hear 5 different interpretations of the bible. Once you add the myriad of interpretations of the other eastern religions, you have a bloodbath looking for a place to happen. This is a truth that has been driven home numerous times already in this infant century. Eastern religions, including christianity, have proven themselves to be the breeding grounds of some of the world’s purest evil.
Your precious bible is nothing but smoke and mirrors. Millions have died as a direct or indirect result of this book. It’s been proven time and again, when christians aren’t kept in check, they invariably turn into a lynch-mob. Every time you idiots go on some half-assed “crusade”, it’s people like me who have to protect your chosen victims. And no, I’m not an activist, I merely reinforce the misgivings of people who think you and your buddies sound really unstable and scary to begin with -- a remarkably simple thing to do since very few people trust religious people to begin with.
