If you’re looking for something to comment on, obsess about, provoke quippage or just get agitated over I was watching Never Kill a Boy on the First Date (1.5) today and I spotted two, count them, two incongruities in the last few lines, one when Giles says

I have volumes of lore, of prophecies, of predictions. But I don't have an instruction manual. We feel our way as we go along. And, I must say, as a Slayer, you're, you're doing... pretty well.

but then later on in What’s My Line, Part 2 (2.10) we learn that

Kendra: I study because it is required. (Giles smiles) The Slayer handbook insists on it.

Willow: There's a Slayer handbook?

Buffy: Wait. Handbook? What handbook? How come I don't have a handbook?

And then, as if that bombshell isn’t enough, just two lines later there’s

Master: (quotes scripture) 'And in this time will come the Anointed. And the Slayer will not know him. She will not stop him, and he will lead her into hell.' (kneels down next to Collin) Welcome, my friend.

but when this comes to pass Buffy does recognise him

Collin: Help me... She lowers the crossbow and walks over to him.

Buffy: It's okay. I know who you are.

Collin holds out his hand. She takes it, and he starts to lead her away to the Master.

So how do you explain that huh, huh? Assumes smug expression and goes back to reading “The Nerds’ Guide to Hilarious Continuity Errors Vol. VIII”
