• Can anyone explain the "Aisling" status on the clrg world championships results? -- former dancer, 05:41:38 04/10/26 Fri
  So I'm a former dancer, and was looking at this year's world results simply for fun (and also because I few people I used to know competed this year and I wanted to see how they did). When looking at results, I noticed that in some situations, there was a status in the results called "Aisling" instead of the R for recalled or MW for a medal holder. What exactly does that status mean? I've never seen it before and was curious.

  This is not critical of the dancers that didn’t attend world as I expect the cost is very difficult right now for many.
  
  My DD was very close to qualifying this year, we watched her agegroup and there were so many missing. I understand dancers want to dance their regional and secondary qualifier but it would be so much fairer if places could be passed down for those not able to travel.
  
  We watched the Under 15 girls. The North East region had 7 qualifiers, 3 didn’t dance including the runner up who is a globe holder. The South East region had 7 qualifiers, 4 didn’t dance including the runner up who recalls at all majors. The West Midlands region had 5 qualifiers, 2 didn’t dance including the runner up who recalls at all majors, the North West region had 6 qualifiers and again several didn’t dance.
  
  There were ten English qualifiers missing and those ten spaces would have been allowed others to participate in the worlds for a change. Surely it better for CLRG to allow this as they make money from the additional entries and most of the ten that were missing hadn’t entered anyway.
  
  Please think about changing the rules. Is it common for this many American or Canadian dancers to miss the worlds when it’s in Ireland? Is there any system in place to hand down qualifying spaces?

  Why do the World Championship sashes feature the American flag so prominently? I do not want to turn Worlds into a political issue, but it is hard to ignore how political everything feels right now. It is already difficult for many of us to travel to the U.S. given the current climate, including concerns around ICE and related policies.
  Most dancers at Worlds come from Europe or Canada, and many of us do not align with or feel comfortable supporting American politics. I would not feel proud wearing a sash that represents a country whose policies I strongly disagree with or find troubling.
  I also heard that the sashes may have been designed by someone from Ireland, which makes the choice even more confusing. Why make the American flag such a central feature, especially given the current global climate?
  If I were to win a sash, I honestly would not feel comfortable wearing it as it is or treating it as something I am proud of. I would not be surprised if dancers chose to cover or alter that part of the sash as a quiet form of protest. Even small gestures can matter.

  Hi there. There is so much confusion regarding the additional band required for worlds. I am not here to debate whether an additional $40 a day wristband is good or not. We all know it’s a money grab and rather disgusting. But with that being said, I’m seeing conflicting posts from CLRG. Some posts say they highly recommend advanced purchase of the wristbands to avoid crowds. But others say you must purchase them from the website ahead of time.
  There must be a QR code to scan or something at the venue to be able to get your daily admission wristband. Plans change people going change many are not 100% sure of their schedule till the day of. Might any of you have any information? Do you know for sure either way if we will be able to buy the $40 wristbands at the venue? Thanks so much.

  I know the answer has historically been Harney and O’Shea Chaplin. My understanding in talking to families from those schools is they have minimal senior teams at this moment and no room for a new transfer to join them. Are there any schools in this region fielding 18/19&O teams for majors? Maybe a school is building that age group up behind the scenes and it wouldn’t be obvious from results pages?
