How on earth could you possibly know what God wants? The bible advocates every damned crime the writers were committing at the time and needed to justify. The bible was written for the express purpose of granting unlimited power to a bunch psychopathic monsters. You are of a diminishing minority that believe the bible is the word of God. If this was so, the old testament would be as valid as the new testament. The bible, particularly the old testament, advocates all the crimes you say the bible prohibits. You use the bible as proof of itself, while simultaneously censoring it’s content. How convenient of you to be authorized by God to modify his word, just like every other christian on earth, to fit your pre-conceived notions.

And isn’t it wonderful how you, and several hundred thousand other “christians” can decide who's a christian and who’s not according to your personal rendition of this document. You say the theory of evolution has corrupted children’s minds? What about the centuries of hideous crimes against humanity committed by your christian buddies? Your “god fearing christian” brethren helped turn the last century into a bloodbath.

And, there’s that old double-standard again. You allow yourself to refer to anyone who disagrees with you as a nutcase; but being referred to AS a nutcase yourself, you find unacceptable. I’ll bet you learned that bit of self-aggrandizing from the bible, didn’t you. The people who wrote the bible were nutcases, and those who appoint themselves God’s spokesmen on the basis of their interpretation of the bible are also nutcases.

If it was still legal to execute “heretics” in the public square, these pious loonies would still be entertaining themselves by slaughtering people (including each other), in wholesale lots every Sunday.

The bible’s ambiguity has resulted in at least as much pain and death as it’s prevented. The “good news” of sorts is; the other middle eastern “holy scriptures” are equally as bad.
