"How on earth could you possibly know what God wants?"

I read the Bible. God is quite specific.

"The bible advocates every damned crime the writers were committing at the time and needed to justify."

All men who contributed to the Bible were sinners. That's a given, because we are all sinners. But God did not say "Thou shalt kill. Thou shalt steal." etc. Just because crimes were documented in the Bible does not mean God advocates them.

"You use the bible as proof of itself, while simultaneously censoring it’s content."

The Bible does not need to be proven to me, and the last thing I would do is censor God's word.

"How convenient of you to be authorized by God to modify his word.."

I wouldn't think of doing such a thing. God specifically forbids it.

"And isn’t it wonderful how you, and several hundred thousand other “christians” can decide who's a christian and who’s not according to your personal rendition of this document."

I cannot claim or decide who is a christian and who is not. By talking with someone, I can recognize a christian-like attitude and perhaps the scope of their faith based on my knowledge of the Bible, but only the person himself and God knows what lies within his heart.

"What about the centuries of hideous crimes against humanity committed by your christian buddies?"

People who commit hideous crimes are not my buddies, whether or not they claim to be christians. If the wretched acts of men have turned you against the Bible, then Satan has won a victory (hopefully temporary.) I won't let evil deeds of sinners dictate my reverence for the word of an infinitely holy creator.

"You allow yourself to refer to anyone who disagrees with you as a nutcase..."

I think you simply misread my statement. I said I would never call you a nutcase.

"those who appoint themselves God’s spokesmen...are... nutcases."

I think that some people have the right idea in their heart, but are not always equipped to handle the task. But those called by God are equipped by God. I do not feel that God has specifically called me into ministry of any kind, but I still like to share my belief in hopes that maybe someday, hopefully, God will use me to change someone's life.

"The bible’s ambiguity has resulted in at least as much pain and death as it’s prevented."

The Bible tells us how to be saved. There is no comparison to the pain and suffering prevented by the acceptance of the Bible as the word of God.
