Let me clarify myself, George.

I didn't mean to imply that Brian's ONLY beef was with the record industry. I agree with you entirely on the Rolling Stones name issue, but I don't feel that one thing would be enough to kill someone over. I'm sure, however, that it could have been the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back. Brian had a LOT of goods on the Glimmer Twins!

I've read about Mick Taylor's beef that he never got credit for the songs he wrote with Mick Jagger...that when the records came out it was Keith Richard's name on the lable as writer, not his own. I believe there was one he said he'd COMPLETELY written himself coming out with "Jagger/Richards" as the song credit! He had no PROOF to back his statements up of course, but if this sort of thing happened all the time, Brian's tapes of old Stones jam sessions would have surely revealed the two of them as frauds. Combine that with the name issue, plus the personal rancour they felt for owing their careers to this troublesome little prick who'd believed in them when no one else would, and you have a stupendous motive for murder!

Again, it's just speculation, but if ABKCO was in bed with the CIA over drugs, and Brian Jones couldn't be corrupted like everyone else into cooperating with them, there was no way any police force would be allowed to investigate his questionable death.

Even if it was really ABKCO and their hired "minder" who did the deed itself, with the cooperation of the new band "leaders", it would be the government agency that'd be covering it up to protect their own "secrets". ABKCO couldn't carry that kind of weight with the police and the coroner. They certainly have been the beneficiaries, however!
