Here we go!
Imperial Commander Lex was ordered into the Mutara Nebula, where a Feddie Nebula class ship was said to be hiding. The ever cautious commander sent a probe droid in to atempt to find the ship, it did.
Starfleet Captain Hoy had gone into the nebula hoping that the radiation woudl mask him from sensors while he planned his next daring raid against Imperail supply convoys. It was he was thinking of this that he saw an Imperial probe droid hurtling past the window of his quarters. "Commander, they've seen us, re-enforce the shields and prepare the weapons"
"aye Captain"
"Commander, we've got them"
"Good work ensign, jump us right outside the nebula on their starbord side"
"aye Commander"
"Captain, our probe relay system within the nebula has detected a spacial distortion that matches those of hyperdrive windows, they are 90 degrees to our starbord side and aproaching at flank speed."
"very well commander, lets give 'em a wave"
"aye sir, firing phasers now"
The light of the nebula was briefly outshined by the phaser beam that slammed into the Nebulon's shields and took it down by 4%.
"Ensign, send our reply."
"aye Commander"
Captain Hoy watched as the burst of turbolaser fire sizzeled past his view screen, the shots would have hurt if it weren't for the Nebula's manuverability. They responded with more phaser and torpedo fire.
"Ensign, I thought their sensors didn't work in radiation like this, In case you didn't notice those were torpedoes that just hit us."
"they must have some sort of sensor network, I'm sure the TIE Defenders could take care of it."
"Make it so, ensign"
Two squadrons of TIE Defenders boil out of the Nebulon's fighterbay, they rapidly eat away the sensor network. As they do this, the Lex an Hoy continue dance around each other (Hoy dancing much more than Lex) as they trade lethal fire.
After about 30 Turbolaser shots land on the Nebula, and about 20 phaser/19 torpedo hits land on the Nebulon, both are without shields, but the Nebula can no longer effectively use its photons as they would need to get close enough to see the enemy to use them, and Hoy knows that being that close will be the end of his ship.
Hoy decideds to make for open space, cut his losses and leave.
Lex sees this and orders his Defenders to blow of one of the nacelles.
Hoy watches as 24 oddly shaped TIEs close on his ship, but these TIEs are different, they are firing torpedoes at his port Nacelle, he orders his commander fire proximity photons at them and destroys all 24 of them in just 5 shots, but at a price, the torpedoes that the TIEs had been firing had blown half of his port nacelle off and the shock waves from the proxy photons had pushed some of the debris into the starbord one, he had only 1 option now, fight to the death. He sent a general distress signal out and sent all of his ship's data to Starfleet HQ in San Francisco, and truned to face his enemy.
Lex was pleased that Hoy didn't have a chance to leave, but he was less than pleased that he would have to face Hoy in open space, where his photon torpedoes would be able to lock onto his ship, he decided that he had no choice but run strait at his enemy, and hope that he moved instead of shot.
Hoy ordered all weapons fire as soon as the Nebulon B materialized out of the swirling mists of the nebula.
Lex's point defense guns were helping against the stream of photons that were pouring out of the Nebula, but helping don't feed the bulldog, the phasers and torpedoes were slowly eating through the forward portion of his ship, fortunately, his turbolasers eating twice as fast through the saucer of the Nebula.
Then, suddenly, all the guns on the Nebula fell silent, the damage to their power grid had been too extensive for anything other than life support and emergency lights to funtion. Lex considered the cituation and decided that Hoy had fought honorably, honorably enough to give them a good death, he ordered his ship to maximum range on his heavy guns, targetted the warpcore, and fired until it breached. The fireball expanded to encompass the Nebulon B, and the shock wave rocked the ship feircly.
Lex said a farewell to the Mutara nebula and ordered his ship to port for extensive and much needed repairs.
Well? how was it?
